Auditing a tough place - Hospital in Haiti

Working in a foreign country definitely has unique challenges and rewards. Part of my assignment is to audit and evaluate current systems, but the other part is to work with the staff and help with training. It is a challenge working in a foreign language and different culture. Good communication is key to understanding each other. I find the Haitians at the office work seriously, but also like to laugh. Sometimes the office is filled with the commotion of someone explaining a story with everyone participating in the actions to describe the situation. Everyone open in accepting new ideas and receptive in working together.
