Ellen heads back to India with AIACA

Ellen has over 20 years experience in developing new business lines in financial information services. As senior director of product development at Standard & Poors, Ellen managed web-based product launches generating over $22 million in new business revenue. She managed the partnership relationships with third-party information technology partners as well as the cross-functional teams designing and launching these online services. Before joining S&P, Ellen held a number of product and business development roles growing revenues over $15 million for new web-based services delivered to major financial firms.

Ellen is founder and executive director of Friends of Tilonia, Inc. which takes its name from Tilonia, a small village in the desert regions of Rajasthan, India that is home of the Barefoot College. Working in conjunction with the Barefoot College, Ellen has developed an online store, Tilonia.com, for the sale of artisan-crafted home furnishings, produced by nearly 400 artisans in villages where the Barefoot College currently works.

As an advocate of social enterprise, Ellen also serves as a mentor to social enterprise teams developing new businesses at New York University’s Stern School of Business and Pratt Design Incubator. She is a graduate of Stern and the University of Minnesota.
