Hello, let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit of me.

My Bio: I graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona in 1990 with a Degree in Economics, and received his MBA from THUNDERBIRD (1993) (Global School of International Management) with emphasis in International Management and Marketing. During my studies I was involved in developing groups and activities to help the community, I was also class delegate and president of different students associations.

After graduating from the MBA, I developed my professional career working in national and multinational companies in the area of strategic planning, product and services development, sales & marketing, and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Development. Major responsibilities have included; the implementation of different projects of telecommunications (Telephony, Satellite services, ISDN, Frame Relay, Internet and E-business platforms); the development of business plans, marketing strategies, project management, services and products; the development of national and regional ICT strategies. I specialized in the areas of Telecommunications, Project Management, Sales & Marketing, Strategic Planning, and Knowledge Management.

I have advised companies, associations, and institutions of Bolivia in subjects related to marketing, public relations, electronic commerce, e-business and the pertinent use of new technologies applied to the work environment and the businesses. I have conducted more than 40 seminars, workshops and courses of telecommunications, electronic commerce, marketing, and new technologies in Bolivia. I have developed activities for consultancy in the areas of; telecommunications, marketing, e-marketing, project management, and information and communications technologies for development (ICT4D) for international organizations such as: ALADI, WB/DGF, IICD, and UNDP.

I really enjoy traveling, and I am avid about meeting new cultures, markets, customs, and people. I possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

I hope that my knowledge in marketing, product development, and ICT’s, my previous experience in Development projects, my ability to laugh and my passion to teach will be useful for my assignment  starting in July.  I will working as a Business Development Associate for Streetwires, Mielie and Kunye in Capetown, South Africa, supporting the organizations in developing a marketing and sales strategy, information and knowledge systems, cost and price analysis, as well as improving the operations efficiency of the South African art-craft work.

I will let you know how this go and some of the results of this mission to Africa.

Cheers,

Gonzalo
