Let me introduce myself. My complete name is Jean-Gardais Monfiston but I go by Dèdè. My name seems to be French, and dèdè which is the translation of daisdais in my mother tongue comes from Gardais (daisdais and dèdè sound same.)

Nevin in Haiti with HAS Haiti
Later that evening we all gathered together at the dinner table and reflected in the night’s events. Although this is something a doctor would face on a regular occurrence, it is not quite what I was expecting while working with finance. But tonight, for the rest of us, this was very different. Just an example of unique events that can take place when working in a developing country, and where resources are limited. This will be one of my lasting memories of working in Haiti.

Miles spent 2006 working with HAS Haiti, a Hospital located in Deschapelles, Haiti that just celebrated it’s 50 year in operation. Miles worked alongside the hospital management building in technology, financial and accounting protocols for the hospital.
