Zahra is working with MWB’s partner Faida Baishara Ltd and proving human resource and general business support as FBL looks to build up it’s internal policies. Zahra will also be working with the staff as they look to build up a new branc office nearby Kenya.

Fonkoze is Haiti’s alternative bank for the Organized Poor. It is the largest micro-finance institution offering a full range of financial services to the rural-based poor in Haiti. Fonkoze’s mission is to build the economic foundations for democracy in Haiti. Established in 1994, Fonkoze currently has over 90,000 depositors, over 30,000 active borrowers (97% of whom are women), and 26 branch offices spread throughout every department of Haiti.

Caroline spent 4 months during 2006 working with a local Micro-finance Institution (MFI) in Nairobi, Kenya Faida Biashara Ltd. Caroline strengthened processes and procedures; selected & initiated implementation of Loan Performer Software. Caroline also undertook external & internal analysis, formulated a 3yr strategic, financial & business plan and developed new products & improved existing products.

Arif was MWB’s first MBA abroad in late 2004. Arif was based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania working alongside CSDI. During his posting, he developed a website CSDI, computerized one MFI in Zanzibar to a loan tracking system and taught staff about financial modelling when preparing business plans
